Bryan Enslein  Thanks everyone for the messages, today I spent all day digging though rock and was able to dig about 5 inches of a 4 foot footing. Besides that and the rain, its an amazing trip, Love Bryan
Carlos Molina Hutt  Hola a todos!!! What can I say? I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Mr. & Mrs. Kuroki...are you by any chance related to Jessica Medina??? She's a really good friend of mine back at Villanova. She's from Lima, and her second last name is also Kuroki!!! Mr. & Mrs. Hearn...Katie insists that I teach her Spanish by the end of the week...please don't blame me if she decides to stay ;-) Besos y Abrazos para todos!!!
Nicole Needle Thanks for all the messages! (umm no more rambling please)Yesterday we hiked uphill to a pineapple farm. YES! We also played the boys in a giant soccer game and they kicked our butts. Today, we started digging the 10 foundations and it was pretty tough. At least my team did not have a giant boulder in ours. It has been raining a lot today and is supposed to until Thursday. A few of us got to go into town today with Dr. Gross and help with the website, which was a fun break. The boys are absolutely adorable and I'm trying to find a way to take them back with me... <3 Nicole
Lea Pineda Hey!  Thanks for the messages.  I am still waiting one from Danielle. :)  I am exhausted today.  We dug foundations and it was the hardest thing I have ever done.  Check out the pics.  It rained today so I haven't been getting very tan.  My body is so sore.  Yesterday we walked 3 miles to the pineapples fields and there were no more pineapples.  I have been eating a lot of candy because the food is not that great.  Tonight we had eggs and beans for dinner.  YUM!  Dad, your message was voted the shortest in all of the trips. I love you dad.  Christian, I miss you and love you.  I am excited to hear all about Florida and what you have been doing.  I will keep you guys updated.  I am so happy I came on this trip, it has been a great experience so far.  MISS YOU. Love, Lea
Lindsay Rehl Hey Mom, Dad, Dan and anyone else reading this.  Today was really interesting. We actually started digging today and it poured so much for such a hot place.  Its kind of hard to dig in the mud! : )  Got lot of dirty clothes already.  Mom - thanks for the message, I do get to read them so keep them coming! Hope you like the pictures so far, many stories behind each one.  I miss you all but I am having so much fun here, and I might be sneaking one of the little boys in one of my bag.  Haha Not really tan yet, but I'm hoping to out do everyone when I get home.  Miss you. Love you all.   BIG HUG  -Love Lindz
Annie Schweihs  Hello everyone!...thanks for the messages...the trip is going great.  We were attacked by two bulls on the way to the pineappleless pineapple farm yesterday and somehow I ended up at the end of the line with the bulls right behind me, but I stayed calm and we made it out alive.  We started digging today...it is going to be a hard working week but we are all "beasts" and ready to tackle it!  The kids, padrinos, volunteers, and workers are all absolutely amazing.  They are constantly amazing me with their love and hard work.  It is hard to believe the history that these children have had.  I cant tell you how happy I am to be on this trip.  Love and miss you all and keep the messages coming!  -Annie
Jon Collins I have never worked this hard in my entire life. I feel like a 90 year old man right now because every muscle and joint is sore. But it has all been worth it, this may be the most exhausting week of my life, but definately the most rewarding. I can't wait to share all of the awesome stories about our adventures and the awesome boys here. hope all is well in the states. more messages are welcome! Love Jon
Zach Harris Thanks guys for the messages!  We had an wonderful day here today.  It was our first day of actual work.  We are laying the foundations for a new computer lab for the kids.  Today we had to dig ten footings that were 2.5 feet deep.  I am not so fond of using a shovel anymore!  I also decided that my hair was too long, so I cut it just like the kids here have their haircut, nice and short.  Don't worry it'll grow back soon enough.  Hope everything is going well Mom Dad and Blake.  Love you guys and miss you.  Steph, how is your week going.  Keep studying hard for all those tests.  Keep sending messages, love you and miss you!
Katie Hearn If I could speak Spanish I would never come back!
Allison Trinkle Hola! Thanks Mom and Dad for the messages.  Thanks Aunt Chrissie for the Nova basketball updates!   Congratulations on your swim meet, Katie!  That's awesome!  I wish I could have been there to see it all, but I'm having an amazing time here.  Yesterday afternoon, we took hike to a pineapple farm and had an encounter with some bulls on the way, but don't worry, we're all ok.  We also played soccer against the boys.  They're so good.  Mom and Dad, I wish you would have made me play soccer when I was younger.   I couldn't keep up!  Today, the sun went away and rained for a good portion of the afternoon.   When it wasn't raining, we started working on the foundation and digging huge holes.  It was pretty tiring, but I survived!! Miss you all!
Matthew Costantino The Beast is dead!  We started working today and everything went well...except that NOTHING went well. There was a lot of expectation for me to beast out foundation holes. However, i somehow chose, or was assigned to the one the was completely stone and had to be chiseled out. My partner and I are the only ones that haven't completed one hole yet. Sorry Mrs. Kurochi.  I will overcome tomorrow. You gotta admit though, I still take the best photos! and, a lot of people down here are telling me that I have lost weight. so thats good. Gudas, I've only eaten 2.5 kids so far.
Dr. David Dinehart Matt, I will try to take photos in the school today.  I was busy yesterday keeping the students busy working.  Abby the weather is perfect for working hard, 75 degrees.  Find the smallest drawer in the house (perhaps a desk) and you may find a surprise. Shelley, send Advil for these old bones. I miss you guys. Family and friends, thank you for the words of encouragement.  Dr. Malta, work on getting permission from Trish and you can come next year! VP, I'm still waiting for spring training updates. Brother Dear, ignore Shawn's note.  You know me, I'm always well behaved.  Mom, tell Dad that we are all glad he enjoyed recess.  Hope all of you are well and enjoying the photos.
Dr. Shawn Gross Hello all!  Today, we dug foundations and made a lot of progress.  It rained pretty hard around lunchtime, and the site became a mess.  But Allison, Annie, Nicole, Jeff, and I went into town to update the web site in the afternoon, so we managed to get out of working in the mud.  A few other updates.  It is supposed to rain a lot this week, which is unusual.  Liza, the soccer game was a tie (9-9).  Luis scored 5 goals.  And no, everybody did not have passports in hand.  Annie left hers on the bus so we wound up running to catch the flight (just like I did that one year in Houston!).  I told Mario you said hi; he remembered you.  Dennis Dinehart, your brother is acting up again...do you have any tips for me on how to keep him in check?  Mr. Martignetti, we decided that your group was disfunctional since you're always picking on Nicole, so we're changing up the groups when we get back.  You've been traded for Annie.  Ryan Anderson, nice to meet you; I'm Dr. Gross.  Jen, miss you a ton.  Nicholas, please sleep during the day (and at night), and don't crawl until I get back!  Jen, maybe you should let the poor kid type his own messages.  I know he loves to attack the keyboard!  Talk to you soon.  Go Nova!
Maria Kuroki girls ... thank you for the messages.  Yes it is a wonderful place and the weather is usually very warm, 80 - 90's, but it has been cloudy and cooler (70's).  An update on McSteamy et. al. would be greatly appreciated by the group!  Gracie, the picture from you at build a bear is on the refrigerator at Amigos. See the photo of me in the prayer circle, and one of me in the kitchen.  It takes a lot of eggs to feed 75 people!  I'm glad it wasn't my turn to do the dishes!  Keep me in your thoughts and prayers and a big hello to Matt and Abby and their classmates! Villa girls, enjoy the Science Fair, sorry I won't get to see the wonderful projects this year.  Anyone see Stanley?
