BREAKING NEWS...
The Group almost got trampled by a pair of Honduran bulls Sunday afternoon, but there are no reports of injury from the site.  However, the group is grateful to Volunteer Pete for stepping in front of the bulls.  He has fully recovered from the scare (and barbed wire fence cuts), but we fully expect to put him to work tomorrow digging foundations.  PS - We have greatly, greatly, greatly exaggerated the events that did occur, but wanted to explain the random picture of the bulls!  Everybody, including Pete, is emotionally and physically fine.

Bryan Enslein  Hello from Honduras!!!! Though the trip here was a little crazy, once at the orphanage I forgot about the two hours of sleep I was running on, and just played all day with the kids. Its just as amazing as I remembered it and this time will have plenty of pictures to show. More updates later in the week.
Nicole Needle HOLA everybody! Honduras is amazing so far. The trip here was tiresome, but we got here and played with the boys until we went to sleep. I like trying to communicate with the boys and some of my Spanish is secretly creeping back. Today we went to mass and got to cool off when we walked back and it started to rain a little. I'm looking forward to the soccer game tonight and starting the project tomorrow. I miss everyone so much, just not my capstone group. <3 Nicole
Lea Pineda Hola Family, friends, and Christian.  Honduras is beautiful and the kids are so loving.  They are constantly giving hugs.  It is very frustrating that I can't speak Spanish but I am still able to have conversations.  The temperature is very hot.  We played soccer and ran around and got sweaty yesterday and today we walked into town and went to mass.  I will keep you guys posted.  Miss you and Love you, Lea
Lindsay Rehl HOLA everybody! Honduras is amazing!  It is so beautiful here.  The children are great and so loving.  They always want to play and give out hugs.  Yesterday we played soccer and after the plane trips -they wore us out pretty good.  This morning we went to church and walked in the rain for a bit.  I wish I could remember more of my Spanish (its slowly coming back,) but the kids don't care, they are just so happy we're here.  I have alot of pictures and will keep taken more.  Love you all and miss you!  BIG HUG! xoxo
Annie Schweihs  Hi everyone!  Honduras is great.  This place (Amigos de Jesus) is absolutely amazing.  The boys are full of hugs and unconditional love.  We went to church today which was fun.  The boys (about 40 of them) and us walked about a mile down a dirt road through a couple of very small towns (chickens cows and wild dogs everywhere) to get there.  The choir/band had guitars and tamborines and we were clapping along to the music....I loved it!  During peace everyone walked around the church giving out hugs and smiles.  Hope everything is going well for everyone....Love Annie
Jon Collins Greetings from Honduras! It's absolutely beautiful here at Amigos de Jesus, and veryyy hot/humid. Yesterday we arrived around 3 pm and hung out with all the boys, and last night we had some really good "chopsuey" for dinner.  This morning we went to mass in town, quite an experience considering I didn't know what they were saying! I'm having a great time so far! Hope all is well,  Love Jon
Zach Harris Hello family and Friends!  We finally arrived at Amigos yesterday and had an amazing afternoon and evening with the boys here.  We played soccer, wrestled, raced, etc.  It's amazing to see how thankful and happy these boys here are after everything they have been through.  It helps to put things into perspective a bit.  Keep posted for more updates....Mom, Dad, Blake, love you guys and I hope all is well.  SC..1437!
Katie Hearn hola famila y amigos!! I love it here at Amigos!! Honduras is beautiful, the food is incredible, and the boys are amazing.  I may not come home! The people here have so much love to share its unbelievable.  I just wish that I knew some Spanish so that I could understand everyone around here. I'll bring some home for you all! I love you all!! Kate
Allison Trinkle Hola!!! We arrived in Honduras yesterday after a long night of travel.   We were greeted at Amigos with hugs and excitement from all of the boys as soon as we got off the bus.  The boys are so cute, happy and very energetic.  We spent most of our afternoon playing games and sports with them.  Needless to say, I was really tired by the end of the night.  This morning we went to church with all of the boys and the other volunteers from Amigos.   I've been trying to use my Spanish as best as I can, but I'm pretty rusty.  Hopefully, by the end of the week, I'll have it down.   Miss you all!! Allison
Matthew Costantino Reporting live from Honduras...this is your eldest son Matthew. We arrived at about 2pm on Saturday after starting at 1 am that morning. My energy level isn't at its peak yet. The week before and trip took its toll. It has been a totally different experience this time around because there are much fewer surprises. Many of the boys from last year are here again and have grown. It has been great seeing them. However, there are a lot of new faces that I am eager to get to know.  We start working tomorrow. We will be digging holes similar to those of last year, but for a different building. There's only one thing to do and that just BEAST it out. Talk to you soon. Matt
Dr. David Dinehart The boys, new and old, are wonderful.  Big smiles and matching hugs for this old professor.  It's amazing how much energy the Villanova students have. They have gone nonstop with the boys.  M and A, Jeff says hello and thank you for the special treat you sent him.  Believe it or not after 8 years I finally scored a goal in the soccer game.  I think I may retire.  The school looks great.  We are planning an afternoon of working with the students there, so we can get answers to the questions of the Villa girls and present the great drawings from the St. Agnes and Villa students.  Sorry we didn't get to post these messages sooner, but it's a long walk (across the river) to get to town to the internet connection.  I hope all is well at home.  M and A, find a basket with things that keep your feet warm and you may find a surprise.  Love you, Dad.  Be good for Mom and say hi to your friends in school.  Good luck on the internet Dad!
Dr. Shawn Gross Hola, amigos y familia!  Hope all is well at home.  Things are great here (as always).  There has been a lot of turnover with the boys so there are a lot of new faces.  So many new names to learn - it will be a real challenge for the rest of the week.  Some of the boys from past years have moved back with their families, and others have unfortunately moved on for other reasons, but I guess that goes with the territory.  Today, we went to mass and added another long walk and a soccer game.  I feel like I walked 54 holes carrying my own bag.  We will be digging tomorrow., and I've already got nothing left in the tank!  Jen, glad to hear VU beat Syracuse.  Hope you had a good weekend with John & Serena.  Nicholas, I miss you lots but will be home before you know it.  Treat your Mommy well while I'm gone!  Hope your not crawling by then but I do hope you have that first tooth!  More updates to come as the week progresses.  Love, Shawn
Maria Hola Villa Maria and St. Agnes.  Honduras is a beautiful country with a lot of green hills.  The Villanova students are bringing me everywhere. I sat with Annie on the plane. The boys at Amigos de Jesus are very friendly.  I met a boy named Fernando (see photo) that visited Philadelphia last year.  He's loves school! I went to church and got to cross a "tree bridge" over the river Dr. D showed you.  Matty almost fell in!  The church was beautiful and decorated in purple.  Do you know why? The priest talked about lent in Spanish. Someone said they saw Flat Stanley, but I haven't seen him. The food is really good here.  I've had rice, beans, corn tortillas, plantains, and pineapple.  I even got to hike to the pineapple field.  The prayer circle at the end of the day is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.  The boys always thank God for their food, the people that started the home, and the people that take care of them. Bye-bye.
